Fashion Design

The increasing globalization of fashion business requires from designers an equally global knowledge of relevant garment and accessories design and production practice.  This program's focus is a comprehensive approach to fashion design that results in an in-depth understanding of apparel design for the retail marketplace.

The Fashion Design degree curriculum at Stevenson University synthesizes the individual esthetic of the designer with an understanding of the market, historical context of fashion and costume, consumer psychology, materials and techniques of apparel construction, and the relationship to the human form.

As a major within SU’s School of Design, the Fashion Design degree draws from the Visual Communication Design, Film/Video/ Theater, and Business Communication programs within the School, as well as the Business Administration in the School of Business.
