How to Prepare for an Advising Appointment

Find out the name of your Academic Advisor

• Find your advisor’s name by checking your degree audit report, accessing your WebXpress account under “My Profile” or by contacting the Registrar’s Office at 443-334-2206.

Find out your advisor’s email, office location, and the office hours that he/she keeps for advising

• Find your advisor’s email by using the Groupwise email address book or by checking the Stevenson University online directory
• Find the advisor’s office location and phone number by checking the Stevenson University online directory or by contacting the Stevenson University switchboard (410-486-7000). Check the office door for weekly hours.
• Or contact the advisor by email and ask for information on office location and available hours.

Make an appointment with your advisor

• Contact your advisor well before the requested appointment
• Tell your advisor the nature of the appointment
  • Schedule planning and registration
  • Midterm advising
  • Drop/Add
  • Academic concerns
  • Changing major
  • General advice

When seeing your advisor bring your degree audit report

• Degree audit reports can be printed from the student’s WebXpress account
• Have a proposed schedule mapped out
