Interim President, Stevenson University

With the retirement of Kevin J. Manning, Ph.D., on Nov. 29, 2016, after his 16 years as President of Stevenson University, Claire E. Moore, who has served as Vice President of Student Affairs and a Member of the President’s Cabinet, was named the Interim President of the University by Stevenson’s Board of Trustees. 

Moore will serve in this position while the Board concludes its search for the next President of Stevenson University in 2017.

A graduate of Villa Julie College, Moore has served the University for more than 30 years, starting as Director of Student Activities in 1982. She was promoted to Director of Campus Life in 1995 and to Dean of Students in 1997, managing residence life, student activities, counseling, and student judicial affairs. In 2005, she became Vice President of Student Affairs, overseeing residence life for 1,800-plus students as well as multicultural experience; a growing student activities office responsible for the Student Government Association, 55 clubs and organizations, and an active campus social life; wellness services for students; judicial affairs; and managing an office of 23 professional staff, 64 resident assistants, and 40 student employees. Moore is a recipient of the University’s President’s Medal for meritorious service and extraordinary commitment to Stevenson, its students, its mission, and its alumni.

We thank Claire, our administrators, and all of our faculty and staff for their continued commitment, focus, and service to our students during this transition period.”
