Thank you for your interest in the School of Design at Stevenson University. The disciplines within the School motivate students to explore, experience, and participate in the communication, performing, and visual arts while learning to meet the real-world challenges faced in today's creative industries, businesses, and organizations.
The School of Design combines coursework in art, business communication, computer technology, film, graphic design, professional writing, theatre, and video to prepare students for a variety of careers. Each of the majors within the School-business communication; fashion design; film, video, & theatre; and visual communication design-is built upon a solid liberal arts foundation.
Students develop their individual voice and vision through practical application of their creative efforts and can broaden their skill sets by participating in cross-disciplinary collaborations. Through required internships that connect students with professionals in their chosen field, as well as involvement with outside firms and not-for-profit organizations, School of Design students explore their interests and refine their skills.
The School of Design's state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, instruction from practicing professionals, and discipline-specific student clubs give students experiences designed to prepare them as emerging professionals.
The latest technological tools; one-on-one advising; and small, personalized classes are just some of the benefits that come with choosing a program within the School of Design at Stevenson University. I hope that you will join us on campus soon.
