‘Summer Serenades in the Valley’ Offers Serene, Outdoor Musical Experience at Stevenson’s Greenspring Campus

For the 10th consecutive season, Stevenson University presents “Summer Serenades in the Valley,” a festive outdoor concert series featuring a wide array of music by Stevenson’s resident ensemble, the Greenspring Valley Orchestra, and other groups organized by Stevenson’s music faculty.

All performances begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Cuvilly Exchange patio area, located on Stevenson’s Greenspring Campus, 1525 Greenspring Valley Road, Stevenson, MD 21153. All performances are free and the public is invited to attend.

Wednesday, June 25

Greenspring Valley Orchestra Classical Pops

The Greenpsring Valley Orchestra, under the direction of Bob Suggs, D.M.A., Conductor and Professor of Music, presents a program of familiar favorites ranging from Mozart to the Beatles to music from Les Miserables. Rain location: Inscape Theatre.

Saturday, June 28

Baltimore Ukulele Symphonette — Popular and Classical Favorites

Under the direction of Jared Denhard, Adjunct Instructor of Music, this select group of performers has become an ongoing favorite summer event to showcase the gentle, whimsical, and often surprising sounds of the ukulele. The concert will be preceded by an open mic event at 6 p.m. All singles and groups are welcome to participate. Rain location: Cuvilly Exchange.

Last Call at the Mustang Lounge

Stevenson University faculty and staff musicians Bob Suggs, Jared Denhard, Mark Lortz, Director of Bands, and others will show their “cool side” with a program of jazzy arrangements in a multitude of instrumental combinations. Rain location: Cuvilly Exchange.

Wednesday, July 9

Greenspring Valley Orchestra Music from TV

The Greenspring Valley Orchestra concludes the Serenades with music from television. It will include many light classics that are associated with popular commercials and cartoons as well as music from several TV series. Rain location: Inscape Theatre.
