Stevenson Football Off to Best Start in School History, Sings “Sweet Caroline” in Victory
With a 13-7 win over King’s College Saturday in Mustang Stadium, Stevenson Football has opened with a 5-0 record for the first time in school history. (The team’s previous best was a 4-0 start in 2014.)
The Mustangs were led by 151 yards rushing from freshman Kiandre Burrell and two interceptions by senior Billy Lewis. After falling behind 7-0, Stevenson scored 13 unanswered points to remain unbeaten.
The Mustangs will look to continue its record-setting start Saturday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Doylestown, Pennsylvania to face Delaware Valley. The team then returns to take on Widener for Stevenson’s Homecoming, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m.
And, with a win they’ll have another opportunity to sing this Neil Diamond classic in the locker room.
