Stevenson Admissions Team Surprises High School Senior with University’s Presidential Fellowship

New Town High School senior Jaleah Sydnor received what she called the best surprise of her life on Tuesday when members of Stevenson’s admissions team revealed to her that she had earned the University’s Presidential Fellowship.

A full tuition scholarship, the Presidential Fellowship is awarded to 10 incoming Stevenson freshmen who will enrich the University community in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and on campus.

Sydnor was asked to report to New Town’s guidance office only to find a contingent of Stevenson staff (including Wild Stang) awaiting her arrival. A Randallstown, Md., native, Sydnor plans to major in psychology and compete on Stevenson’s track and cross country teams.

Stevenson University, known for its distinctive career focus, is the third-largest independent university in Maryland with more than 4,400 students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and adult bachelor’s programs at locations in Stevenson and Owings Mills.
