A four-time all-conference member in his four-year collegiate career, Stevenson men's ice hockey senior Mike Davis became the second Mustang to sign a professional hockey contract, signing with the Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

The SPHL is a professional ice hockey league based in Huntersville, North Carolina, with teams located primarily in the southeastern United States. The Bulls are one of 10 teams in the league and are based in Palham, Alabama and currently sit in ninth place in the SPHL with 41 points.

"We are excited for Mike to begin his pro career," said Stevenson head coach Dominick Dawes. "Mike has been a leader for us on and off the ice and has played a huge role in the foundation of our program."

In his two-year career at Stevenson, Davis set a program record with 43 points, 24 goals, 16 power play goals and five game-winning goals. In his four year career, Davis appeared in 105 games and totaled 96 points on 57 goals and 39 assists. Davis was named the Rookie of the Year and to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman in the ECAC West while picking up First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore at Neumann. He earned honorable mention honors in his junior season before being named to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Second Team this season.

A two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week this season, Davis ranked tied for fifth in Division III this season with nine power play goals and tied for 64th with 0.50 goals per game.
