M. Diane Payne
Assistant Vice President, Research and Resource Management
Diane currently oversees the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR), the Office of Institutional Research & Assessment (OIRA), and the budget for Academic Affairs. She is also the Faculty Liaison for the Fulbright Scholar Program and oversees SU’s Institutional Review Board. She is a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), the Society of Research Administrators (SRA), the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), AAC&U, the Society of Colleges & University Planning (SCUP) and the American Chemical Society. She holds an MS in chemistry and retains her faculty status, having previously taught for 18 years in the Department of Chemistry at Stevenson University.
Rebecca (Becky) Van Horn
Assistant Director, Office of Sponsored Programs & Research
Becky is a member of the Council of Undergraduate Research and the National Council of University Research Administrators. She has earned certificates in Grantsmanship, Pre-Award, and Financial Management from the Society of Research Administrators, and holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Grants Administrator, Office of Sponsored Programs & Research
Jim is a Certified Research Administrator as well as Certified Public Accountant, and holds an MBA degree from Loyola University. Jim has been actively involved in grants administration for over fifteen years, having served as the Manager of Post-Award Accounting, and as an Assistant Director of Pre-Awards at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He is a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). He has presented at regional meetings of both the National Council of University Research Administrators, and at the Society of Research Administrators International. Jim also holds an MS degree in Clinical Counseling, is a National Certified Counselor, and is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. In addition to his grant work at Stevenson, he volunteers as a counselor to people in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions.
