The Greenspring Valley Orchestra celebrates the 450th Anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare with a program consisting entirely of music inspired by the works of the famed English playwright and poet.  Introducing each of the pieces will be Chris Roberts, Program Coordinator of Stevenson University’s Theatre Department, and William LeDent, Adjunct Professor of Theatre, in readings from the plays represented by the music.  The orchestra’s Music Director, Robert Suggs, will also be featured singing Iago’s aria from Verdi’s opera Otello.  Other plays given musical treatment include Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, and Richard III in works by Vaughan Williams, Berlioz, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, and Walton. The orchestra performance will take place in Stevenson's Inscape Theatre with a reception to follow in the theatre lobby.

Tickets: General admission $10, students and seniors $5. Call 443-334-2433 for tickets.
